Educational:   to introduce with  grammar theme  Nature of Almaty with new words, then to teach to make  up sentences, to use them in everyday life

Medeu

The world’s famous skating rink Medeu was build in 1972  in a picturesque gorge which is located 15 km. from Almaty. Its 10. 500 sq. meter ice area is the best place for outdoor world competitions in speed skating.      Special refrigerating equipment provides the ice-cover of the skating field 8 months a year and ice tracks are kept ready for skating all year round. It is open for public skating December through March. Admission about US $ 4 skates rent is avsilable on the first floor outside of the rink.

Shymbulak

Mountain ski resort Shumbuluak is situated at 2200-2500 meters in the picturesque shumbulak gorge. It is remarkable for its mild climate with a lot of sunny days. The average December temperature is 6.3 c. After a snowfall,its powder is as good as anywhere else in the   world.

Peak talgar

Almaty nature Reserve

Talgar peak is 4973- meter high. Its slopes are covered with glaciers and snowfields. The first ascent of talgar peak was performed in 1935. It  also has some of the most scenic hiking. However, the area is part of the closed Almaty nature reserve and special permission is normally required to to visit it. The reserve protects snow leopard habitat and it is also  the home of such animals as deer, eagles, wild sheep  (arkhar)

Charyn canyon

It is popularly said that charyn cayon is a smaller version of the famous Garand Colorade Canyon in the US  but really it has a charm of its own. The charyn river is the left tributary of the Ile river.

Khan Tangiri

Khan Tangiri is 6995 m. high and it is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

Khan Tangiri is on the border of Kazakhstan and  Kirgizstan  close  to their borders with china.

The ile river

The Ili river flows west out of china and eventually north –west into lake Balkhash. It is a  good sport for fishing

Ulken Almaty lake

This lake is located at 2510 meters above sea leave, 15 kilometers south of Almaty. In its southern part the lake receives the water of the Ulken  Almaty river.

Kolsai Lakes

The shortest  way to lake Issyk kul from Almaty is via Kolsai Lakes. The lake system lies about 115 km. to the east of Almaty in the chilik and then to kegen.
